The classic hitting for pitching deal. The Lumber Company acquired their SS of the future in Simon. His defense should be average at short and his ratings indicate that he should hit for a decent average as well. The Dodgers receive a future ace in Stewart and a decent utilityman in Johnson. All three of these players should be ML-ready in short order, possibly as soon as this season.

i think col got the better deal. they gave up two players but neither player has been ml tested...col got a ml tested SS and i think he will be an average fielder and average hitter, where as the dodgers got two players who havent gotten out of the minor leagues, they will prolly be just okay in everyrhing...if they ever make the ml's!

Tough to say - the pitcher he gave up could end up being a true stud.

SS was the one position that I had no talent. It was tough to give up both of those players but I think in the end it was a fair offer for one of the better young SS. One player would not have been enough.
